Presentation Summary: The World Federation for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (WFTOD) was founded during the EUROPAD meeting of July 2007 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. All of the member nations, which included the member countries of EUROPAD and all of the member states within AATOD, agreed to a charter for the World Federation.

The World Federation has organized a symposium representing selected practitioners, researchers, medical professionals to provide brief presentations on topics related to opioid use disorder trends, treatment, etc.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will:

Discuss how individuals with opioid use disorder are treated in different countries all over the world.
Explain how to manage pain in patients with opioid use disorder.
Assess how patients are treated in the real world, taking into consideration neurological, psychotherapeutic and treatment aspects.
