Sandra Gomberg, DNP RN, is a consultant for the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities, Philadelphia.
Dr. Gomberg is a healthcare executive whose career has focused on disruptive innovation in health care delivery and improving access to quality equitable healthcare for individuals, communities and populations. Dr. Gomberg holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing from the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing at Villanova University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Executive Leadership from American Sentinel University.
Dr. Gomberg provides governance, leadership and operating consulting and advisory services to organizations and to companies at all levels of maturity embarking on the innovation within the greater healthcare and related industry segments. Previously, Dr. Gomberg served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Aria Jefferson Health System and community physician enterprise in Northeast Philadelphia and Chief Executive Officer and President of Temple University Hospital Inc., the flagship academic hospital, community physician enterprise, psychiatric hospital, and air ambulance-transport company. Dr. Gomberg has served as a clinical specialist for a multistate regional home care service and chief executive of an 800 bed, three-facility long term care enterprise. Dr. Gomberg has held numerous board positions in non-profit and for-profit organizations. Dr. Gomberg served as the leader of the City of Philadelphia’s COVID-19 response and Mass Vaccine Initiative where she lead the City’s multi-agency command structure with FEMA and the Department of Defense providing over 300,000 vaccines to vulnerable Philadelphia residents. She has served as a Consultant to the World Bank’s team design of the Bank’s global vaccine procurement and distribution model. Following her work with the City of Philadelphia around the pandemic, Dr. Gomberg continues to advise the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities and Managing Director’s Office focused on the complex intersection of serious mental illness, substance use disorder and homelessness. Dr. Gomberg is a member of the Board of Consultors of the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, Villanova University. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Villanova’s M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing.
