Margaret Eckles-Ray, MBA, CADC, CRS, is the Special Assistant to the Secretary at the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. In this role, she provides critical support to the Secretary and leads initiatives focused on community and stakeholder engagement, special events, and expanding access to treatment. Margaret collaborates with partners across Pennsylvania to strengthen service delivery and promote well-being in substance use disorder and behavioral health.
Before joining the Department, Margaret served as Program Director for the York Assessment Center within the White Deer Run Treatment Network. There, she managed a team dedicated to providing access to treatment and support services. With over 13 years of experience in substance use and behavioral health, she brings deep expertise to her work.
Margaret is also a passionate advocate for recovery, with nearly 25 years in long-term recovery herself. Her commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations is evident through both her professional roles and community engagement. She holds an MBA degree in Organizational Management from Eastern University.
In addition to her professional work, Margaret actively participates on local boards and has been recognized for her contributions to mental health and substance use disorder initiatives. Her ongoing dedication to positive change drives her efforts to address the needs of underserved communities throughout Pennsylvania.
