Amanda N. David, MSW, LSW is the Deputy Commissioner of the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services. In this role, Amanda oversees the Behavioral Health Division and the Department’s delivery of a comprehensive range of behavioral health services for adults and children, including prevention, intervention, treatment services, emergency and crisis intervention, social and psychiatric rehabilitation, individual and group counseling, family support, residential support, outreach, and recovery support. Amanda oversees an extensive network of contracted provider agencies located throughout Philadelphia, including multiple community mental health centers, substance use disorder treatment programs, specialized behavioral health agencies, and crisis response centers.
Amanda is a native Philadelphian, and is a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for Girls. She is a licensed social worker and holds a master’s degree in social work from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Evangel University.
