Captain Aldrich has served the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for 24 years. He holds certifications through the Oregon Department of Public Safety, Standards, and Training in both Corrections and Patrol. In his current role as the Jail Commander he has helped navigate the challenges of operating the jail during the COVID-19 pandemic, social justice reforms, and increased public scrutiny. He has been instrumental in enhancing services for adults in custody, establishing partnerships with peer support groups, and facilitating access to medication-assisted treatment. In addition to his work with the incarcerated population, he is heavily involved in the Jackson County Deflection Program which offers pre-arrest alternatives to individuals with substance use disorder who have been contacted by police. In 2024 Captain Aldrich was recognized as Oregon Jail Commander of the Year by the Oregon State Sheriffs Association.
