Dr. Sara Shane earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she underwent advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychological assessments across diverse clinical settings throughout the Philadelphia region.
She completed both her Doctoral Internship and Post-Doctoral Fellowship at The Center for Neurological and Neurodevelopmental Health (CNNH) in New Jersey, an outpatient neurology practice specializing in comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for individuals of all ages with neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. Dr. Shane is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, bringing a wealth of expertise in psychological evaluation and treatment.
Dr. Shane is currently a faculty member of Thomas Jefferson University’s Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Executive Director of the Substance Abuse Programs.
As a faculty member she is a facilitates a Case-Based Learning course to second year medical students enrolled in the Sidney Kimmel Medical School, participates as a member of the Department of Psychiatry Performance Improvement Committee, and has involvement with the training of the psychiatry medical students, residents, and fellows.
In her role as Executive Director, she oversees a multifaceted array of services, including a SAMHSA Certified/DDAP Licensed Opioid Treatment Program, a DDAP Licensed Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Program, and a Center of Excellence for Opioid Use Disorder. Dr. Shane’s strategic vision led to the restructuring of these programs into a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment network, significantly enhancing access to quality care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders in the Philadelphia area.
