Dr. Beth Meyerson is the Beverly Benson McCord Endowed Chair of Nursing, a Professor of Medicine, the Director of the Harm Reduction Research Lab and the Policy Director of the Comprehensive Center for Pain and Addiction - all at the University of Arizona. Dr. Meyerson is focused on systems and policy change to reduce opioid overdose and bloodborne illness and infection among people who use drugs. Beth's expertise is community-based participatory action research (CBPAR), implementation science, and translational science (to policy and practice) focused on medicine and pharmacy practice. The transdisciplinary faculty of the Harm Reduction Research Lab hail from 8 universities and one CBO across the U.S. Meyerson and colleagues have published over 80 articles documenting their research and its impact. The work of the lab is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and a variety of foundations.
