Presentation Summary: Effective community outreach in the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) space is about meaningful connections, collaboration, and real change—not just numbers. This session explores how quality over quantity in outreach leads to sustainable impact, stronger partnerships, and better patient engagement.

By prioritizing collaboration over competition, we can bridge service gaps, reduce stigma, and expand access to evidence-based treatment. Rooted in our vision of “leading the change to eliminate the consequences of substance use disorder,” this session provides actionable strategies to create outreach efforts that go beyond metrics and drive lasting community impact.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will:
  • Describe the impact of quality-focused outreach strategies in Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) and explain how they improve patient engagement, retention, and access to Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD).
  • Demonstrate effective collaboration techniques with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local stakeholders to enhance outreach efforts and reduce barriers to MOUD treatment.
  • Develop an action plan for implementing relationship-driven outreach strategies that prioritize meaningful connections over traditional quantity-based metrics, leading to sustainable community impact in opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment.
