Presentation Summary: Aiming to provide clinicians with both insight and practical tools, this workshop is an introduction to a relationship-oriented frame for treating youth opioid use. We will present qualitative research data describing the need for systematic engagement of loved ones in youth treatment, offer an introduction to a treatment protocol utilizing behavioral interventions designed to enhance uptake and retention on medication for opioid use disorder for youth ages 16-25, and teach concrete skills for family engagement that participants can use in a variety of treatment contexts.

At the completion of this activity, participants will:

Describe the evidence base for family involvement in transition age youth OUD treatment.
List three effective engagement strategies to increase CSO involvement in youth OUD treatment
Apply relationship oriented therapy techniques in their work with youth with OUD.
